Privacy

The short version: this site doesn’t know who you are, and isn’t trying to find out.

What is not collected

  • No accounts, no sign-ups, no forms.
  • No cookies.
  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising.
  • No third-party requests: fonts, scripts and images all come from this site.
  • No access logs are kept for this site.

What is stored, and where

  • Your theme choice. If you pick one of the five looks in the footer, the name of it (for example modern) is saved in your browser’s localStorage under 1dot1-theme. It never leaves your device and nothing here reads it except the page you are looking at. Clear your site data and it is gone. Each address (1dot1.co.uk, arcade.1dot1.co.uk) keeps its own choice.

The visitor counter

The number on the home page is not a per-visitor count. Once a day the hosting service’s own total number of requests for the previous day is added to a running total, and that single number is published. It can’t tell visitors apart, and nobody is followed from page to page.

The hosting provider

The site is served by Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront). To deliver pages, any web host necessarily sees the address a request comes from while it is being served. This site does not keep or look at that.

The Arcade

The Arcade is a separate site with its own notes: arcade.1dot1.co.uk/privacy.html.
